Obituaries

Kenneth P. Johnson, 96

Kenneth P. Johnson resided in Palatine since 1954. He was born August 2, 1917 in Oconto, Wisconsin, and died September 23, 2013. He moved to Chicago after graduating from high school where he met and married Marion Louise Hurley. They had two children, Carol and Kenneth. He was a World War II veteran where he served under General George Patton as a Sherman Tank driver at the Battle of the Bulge. After the war he was a carpenter by trade and later a builder and remodeler. He was a dedicated Mason achieving the highest level and honor of Masonry, the 33 degree. He also was a renowned Grand Lecturer. His hobbies included coaching baseball, loving horses, golf and the great outdoors. He was a devoted husband and father and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son Kenneth.

Funeral Information

Visitation Thursday, September 26, 4-9 PM. Funeral Friday, September 27, 11 AM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Entombment Memory Gardens.
