Bernard R. “Red” Davis, 90

Services for Bernard R. "Red" Davis, 90, will be Wednesday Aug. 17.

Visitation for Red will be held at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine on Wednesday Aug. 17 from 3 p.m. until the time of the Masonic Services at 8 p.m. Funeral Service Thursday August 18, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Steve Boorsma officiating. Interment will be private.

Red, an Arlington Heights resident formerly of Des Plaines, was born on Feb. 27, 1921 in Chicago the son of the late Bernard Roland and Alma Bertha (Muehlenbeck) Davis and passed away early in the morning on Saturday Aug. 13 at the Silverado Senior Living Center in Lake Zurich.

Red had been a member of the Paul Revere Masonic Lodge #998 A.F. & A.M. of Chicago, also member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Chicago and Medinah Shriners.

Prior to Red’s retirement he had worked as manufacturers representative in the shoe industry and had been past president of Shoe Travelers Association of Chicago.

Beloved husband of Doris (Becker) Davis; loving father of Deborah (Odilon) Boey, Richard Davis, Gregory (Christine) Davis, Jeffery Davis and the late Bernard Roland Davis III; cherished grandfather of Julie (Mark) Loewes, Brian (Kim) Boey, Melissa, Jennifer and Nathan Davis; great grandfather of Andrew, Charlotte, Katelyn, Harrison, Nicholas and Victoria; nephew of Sally Piechocki; also survived by many other loving family and friends.

In lieu of flower memorials would be appreciated in memory of Red for the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL  33607.
