Baughman, Bartz, Remembered

Services for Carolyn R. Baughman and Herman K. "Dick" Bartz have been scheduled.

Carolyn R. Baughman, 74

Visitation for Carolyn R. Baughman (nee: Worley), 74, will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.,  Tuesday, March 8, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.

Funeral service will held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Rd., Palatine.

Carolyn was born Jan. 26, 1937 in Quincy, she passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Pepper Family Hospice House in Barrington.

Carolyn was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where she was active in the New Member Class, Shepherding Ministry, Altar Guild and the Care Ministry.  Her favorite class was “Study Your Bible”. Her future plans were to volunteer at Crosspoint Lutheran Church in Lakewood.

Survivors include her husband, William D. Baughman; children, David (Kathleen) Baughman, Susan (Ron) Gadek, Steven (India) Baughman; grandchildren, Matthew and Mary Kate Baughman, Bradley Gadek, William and Chloe Baughman; Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Laura Worley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Crosspoint Church, c/o Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Rd., Palatine, IL 60067.

Herman K. "Dick" Bartz, 73

Herman K. “Dick” Bartz, 73, a 40 year resident of Palatine.

Visitation for Dick Bartz will be from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. on Thursday March 10 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Interment will be private.

Dick was born on Feb. 21, 1938 in Evanston, the son of the late Herman and Mamie (Kolpine) Bartz and passed away on Monday March 7 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Prior to the retirement of Dick he had worked in the printing industry for 48 years.  Following his retirement he enjoyed driving a school bus for Consolidated School District 15 and also Buehler YMCA.

Survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Nicole (nee: Knutson) Bartz; loving father of Amy Bartz and Parrish Bartz; cherished grandfather of Bailey, Cody, Peyton and Tori; dear brother of Lillian (late Edwin) Elsner, Adele (Late Frank) Nowobilski and the late Edwin Bartz; brother in law of Evelyn Bartz; also survived many other loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated for the American Cancer Society.
