Little City Chosen for Famous Hot Chocolate Walk in November

Join in the fun at the Hot Chocolate Walk for Little City on Nov. 4, 2012 while generating awareness and funds for individuals with autism and other disabilities

PALATINE, Ill.–September 25, 2012—Little City and RAM Racing have teamed up for the second Hot Chocolate Walk for Little City in Grant Park on Nov. 4 to generate awareness and much-needed funds for children and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. This walk coincides with the popular Hot Chocolate 15/5k race and will benefit Little City Foundation.

The Hot Chocolate Walk for Little City is a family-friendly event, with many fun post-race activities for children of all ages including a large Kid Zone, magicians, face painting and much more. Strollers are welcome and children under the age of 12 are encouraged to participate as junior walkers.

“We were delighted to learn that the Hot Chocolate Walk for Little City was going to happen again this year. It’s a wonderful chance for the whole family to participate in a race together while supporting children and adults with autism and other disabilities,” commented Executive Director Shawn E. Jeffers.

All walkers will enjoy the same perks as runners, including a goodie bag with a sweatshirt, finishers mug and Ghirardelli chocolate fondue and hot chocolate during the post-race party.

Individuals also have the opportunity to raise additional funds for Little City after registering. All participants can build their own fundraising page which can be shared with friends and family over social networks and email. Additional perks will be given to people after reaching pre-determined giving levels.

Last November, over 800 families and Little City supporters walked through Grant Park joining the thousands of runners, to help raise $20,000 for the individuals with disabilities Little City serves. Little City engages and supports individuals, families and communities to ensure that children and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities can realize their unique potential to live safely, learn continuously, explore creatively and work productively throughout their lifetimes.
