Stunning Sedona

Chapel of the Holy Cross, Sedona, Arizona.

If you've never made a trip to Sedona Arizona, also known as "red rock" country, you're really missing something.

One of the attractions there is the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

It is the creation of a lady named Marguerite Bruswig Staude. She took a trip to New York city in 1932, where she noticed that an image of a cross could be seen from a certain angle, when looking at the newly constructed Empire State Building.

She spent time time looking all over the world for an ideal location to build a church. She was especially struck by the beauty of Sedona, and constructed the chapel between two pinnacled spurs 250 feet high, jutting out of a 1,000 foot redrock.

It is one of the most tranquil and peaceful places I have visited in my life.
