Northwest Suburban Council PTA/PTSA Donates Warm Clothing to Hurricane Sandy Victims

NWSC PTA Coat Closet Sends Aid to the East Coast.

On November 14, 2012, volunteers from the Northwest Suburban Council PTA (NWSC PTA) selected warm clothing from the NWSC PTA Coat Closet to be donated to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Ten large lawn leaf bags of overstock coats and warm weather accessories were selected by Susan Rogers, NWSC PTA Health & Safety Chair; Jen Towsey, Central Road PTA President; and Kelly Hill, also from Central Road. The items were then donated to RIM Logistics. RIM is a transportation company in Roselle that conducted a warm clothing drive at their warehouse. RIM will be delivering the collected items to victims of Hurricane Sandy next week.

The NWSC PTA Coat Closet was established so that all District 15 children would have the opportunity to be properly clothed in the winter months. The Coat Closet is located at Gray M. Sanborn School, 101 N. Oak Street, Palatine. Coats, hats, gloves and mittens, snow pants, scarves, and boots, ranging in size from toddler to adult, are available. Those needing clothing should contact any CCSD15 school office. The Coat Closet is maintained by the NWSC PTA Health and Safety Chair along with the health and safety chairs from the twenty schools in Community Consolidated School District 15.

The Northwest Suburban Council of the Illinois PTA provides support and resources to the local PTA units of all CCSD15 schools.
