Palatine Salon Wins $2,500 from Wella Corporation to Support Local Charity Efforts

Salon Lorrene of Palatine Places 2nd in National Community Service Challenge!

Mega beauty corporation, Wella, gave a challenge to beauty salons across the country:  tell us your best community service idea … for a chance to win a grand prize of $10,000,  and $2,500 to the best twenty salons!

Lorrene Conino - - owner of Salon Lorrene in Palatine  - - decided to take the challenge and tell Wella about the charity work done by her business …  and Salon Lorrene won 2nd place in the Wella Charity Challenge, along with  a $2,500 donation to her charity Celebrating All That is Feminine (CATIF)!

CATIF is a small group of local professional women who have joined together to raise funds to assist women in need. The group holds two events each year that support the work of other established organizations focused on empowering women and at-risk girls.  Comments Lorrene,  “Our salon is team organized, and every team member does a  part.  We are thrilled to have won the $2,500 from Wella … the money will be used to support five families who are now living in shelters, by funding a program called “Arts Refreshing the Soul,” because art education has a tremendous impact: art empowers, transforms, and rebuilds the soul(http://www.artsrefreshingthesoul.org/).  To date, CATIF has donated over $60,000 to Celebrating All That is Feminine.  We are very proud of our community involvement.”

In addition to running her business Salon Lorrene and donating her time to serve as vice president of CATIF, Lorrene is also an active member of the Board of Directors of Cosmetologists Chicago, the largest association of salon professionals in the country and also the owner/producer of America’s Beauty Show .
