Leadership Series: Driving Change

Here’s Phoebe Segal's take on training: “Leadership training is important because leadership is a skill. You could be 'cut out' for leadership, but unless you've been trained in the skills the job demands, you are not as likely to be successful at this job."

The Harper College For Business consultant designs, develops and delivers basic supervisory training with clients in corporate, manufacturing, health care, federal government and not-for-profit organizations. On Friday, Jan. 24, Segal will present Driving Change as part of the HCFB Leadership Series. The session will address how to accelerate change; minimize potential negative effects that change can have on productivity, morale and collaboration; turn resistance into commitment and inspire team members to take ownership of change; and clearly communicate the business rationale and benefits of change for the team and organization.

Driving Change will take place from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Wojcik Conference Center on Harper’s main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. The cost is $179.

Future HCFB Leadership Series sessions include Emotional Intelligence: Dealing With Difficult People on Feb. 28, Developing Others on March 21, Managing Your Priorities on April 25 and Delegating With Purpose on May 30. For more information, visit harpercollege.edu or call 847.925.6640.
