Del Mar Unchallenged in Bid for Palatine Township Committeeman

Palatine Township Republican Committeeman Aaron Del Mar will face no challengers in the March 2014 primary election.

Current Palatine Township Republican Committeeman Aaron Del Mar will have no challengers in the March 2014 primary.

Del Mar secured more than 500 signatures and was the first to file petitions with the Cook County Clerk on Nov. 25, according to a press release from the Palatine Township Republican Organization (PTRO).

With no challengers filing nominating petitions, Del Mar will be the only Republican candidate for Palatine Township Committeeman listed on the upcoming election ballot.

"I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve my community for another four years," said Del Mar. "I would like to thank all my family and friends for their outstanding support."

Del Mar was first elected to the Palatine Township Republican Committee in 2010. Within a year, he was appointed the Cook County Republican Deputy Chairman and, subsequently was elected the full-term Cook County Republican Chairman in 2012.
