UPDATE: Murder Suspect Turns Himself into Police

Detectives have located the murder weapon and police are questioning the suspect in the stabbing death of a Palatine man.

Less than 24 hours after the deadly stabbing in Palatine, the suspect has turned himself into police and detectives have located the murder weapon.

According to the Palatine Police Department, a suspect was developed early on in the homicide investigation of Palatine resident, .

People who live in the apartments around courtyard, right in front of the the crime scene at  apartment complex said the suspect immediately fled, but witnesses were able to identify the man to investigators.

Late Monday afternoon, as officers searched for the man who was identified by witnesses, the suspect presented himself at Police Headquarters accompanied by his attorney. 

In a statement issued just after 4:30 pm on Monday, Palatine Police Cmdr. Kurt Schroeder said, “Detectives have located the murder weapon and are questioning the suspect at this time.” The suspect's name has not been released at this time.

Palatine Police Officers were called to the East 700 block of Rand Grove Lane to respond to a fight in progress.  When officers arrived around 9 p.m. Sunday night, they heard a woman screaming from the courtyard area. There, officers found Frazier with multiple stab wounds to his torso.

The 21-year-old was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he was pronounced dead at shortly after 11 p.m. According to the medical examiner’s office, an autopsy will be performed on Monday, Aug. 20.
