Northwest Circle of Friends of Palatine will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary with a “Black and White” luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Seville Banquets, 700 S. Barrington Rd., Streamwood.
Starting in Palatine as Welcome Wagon in 1972, the popular social club split into two groups in 1977 due to its’ size. The two groups merged again in 2000; and in 2004 became Northwest Circle of Friends, when Welcome Wagon became Home, Inc.
All past Presidents of the club and all former members are invited to attend this special luncheon. Please contact Edna Poduch at 847-991-9521 for more information and to make your reservation. Raffle tickets for gift baskets to benefit Palatine Township Adopt-A-Family program are now available.
Over the years the club has continued to grow and flourish as a social club while also supporting the local community through various fundraisers to provide support to Shelter, Inc., Palatine Township Food Pantry, and others.
The club currently has approximately 135 members and offers social activities almost daily, ranging from Bridge, Hands & Feet, Movie Club, Mahjong, Walking Group, a Book Club as well as Bowling and Golf leagues, to name a few. They also hold monthly luncheons with speakers, host an Out to Dinner group, a Breakfast Club, as well as a Holiday party and Summer picnic.
The club is open to any women in the northwest suburbs looking to make new friends or who is interested in one of our many activities. New members are welcome at any time and can find out more about Northwest Circle of Friends by visiting our website at www.nwcircleoffriends.com or by contacting Nancy at 847-705-5322.
