Get Out: Wellness Walk at Harper, Battle for the Badge Downtown

1. 

Find out what's happening in Palatinewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where / When: ,1400 W. Northwest Hwy., Palatine; 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday, May 13.

Why Go?: Bring the whole family to the Y and go for a swim, check out the playmaze, play some basketball and try out the climbing wall.

Pricing: Free for Y members; $20 per family for non-members 

 

2. 

Where / When: , 180 N. Smith St., Palatine; 6:30 - 9:30 p.m., Friday, May 13.

Why Go?: See the world-famous rock and roll show from Howl at the Moon, a dueling piano bar in Chicago, and help raise funds for the Foundation. Must be over the age of 21 to attend. Many exciting prizes will be raffled off.

Pricing: $20 per ticket which includes the 2 hour concert and a coupon for one free drink

Where / When: , Wojcik Conference Center; 7 p.m.; Friday, May 13.

Why Go?: Harper College Fashion Department's annual fashion show. Call 847-295-6100 for tickets.

Pricing: $25

Where / When: , Algonquin Road Entrance; 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.; Saturday, May 14.

Why Go?: Walk a 3K or run a 5K to celebrate and support cancer survivors, their families and caregivers with Wellness Place, Cancer Education and Support. A balloon release ceremony will follow the walk and run. All donations will help provide free education and support to those affected by cancer.

Pricing: $25 registration fee

Where / When: Sonic Drive-In, 1151 E. Dundee Rd., Palatine; 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Saturday, May 14.

Why Go?: Come to the first car show at Sonic. Sample some delicious food and meet Mr. Limeade. Fun for the whole family.

Pricing: Free

Where / When: , 542 Colfax St., Palatine;  7 a.m. - 1 p.m.; Saturday, May 14.

Why Go?: Visit the twenty-seven vendors who will be selling their farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, organic meats and eggs, cheeses, spices, olives, pickles and much more.

Pricing: Free admission

Where / When: ; 8 a.m., Sunday, May 15.  

Why Go?: Run on a fun course through Palatine neighborhoods and end up at the Margreth Riemer Reservoir. Help raise money for the Palatine Police and Fire Benevolent Association.
