Palatine Events, Entertainment for St. Patrick's Day Weekend

Find out what area businesses are offering for Irish fare, drink and entertainment this St. Patty's Day weekend.

Green beer will be plentiful at area bars this weekend and Irish fare, such as corned beef and cabbage, will make its annual appearance on local restaurant menus. 

That's right, St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. The annual holiday that celebrates everything Irish falls on a Sunday this year (March 17). Palatine plans to paint the town green with plenty of activities over the weekend, including a parade and Irish Market on Saturday, and a variety of entertainment on Saturday and Sunday right in downtown Palatine.

Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille

Address: 60 N. Bothwell Street

Saturday: DJ JKEY Helps Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. A free can of Red Bull for the first 100 customers. Party room opens at 9 p.m.

Saturday: Half price pizza from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Saturday and Sunday for St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Corn Beef Sandwiches – to go – only $3 (includes tax) while supplies last….a great munchie while watching the St. Patrick’s Day Paint the Town Green Parade on Saturday.

Durty Nellie's

Address: 180 N. Smith Street

All ages are welcome to Durty Nellie's and Smith Street Station downtown Palatine on Saturday and Sunday to take part in the 10th Anniversary St. Patrick's Day Celebration.

Entertainment is scheduled throughout both days. A two-day pass is $10, according to Durty Nellie's website, and a Sunday-only ticket is available for $5 and will get party-goers entrance to both Durty Nellie's and Smith Street Station. You can purchase tickets online

Here is a look at the entertainment line-up for this year's 10th Anniversary St. Patrick's Day Celebration: 

Saturday

  • 11:30 to 1 p.m.: Bagpipes - Highland
  • 2 to 3:15 p.m.: The Buddies
  • 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.: Irish Dancers
  • 5 to 6:30 p.m.: Matt Stedman Band
  • 7 to 9 p.m.: Red Rebel County 
  • 9:30 to 11 p.m.: Without U2 (U2 Tribute Band)
  • 11:30 p.m. to ???: Rock Candy

Sunday

  • 12 to 2 p.m.: Screw City Saints
  • 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.: Great Whiskey Project
  • 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.: Irish Dancers
  • 5:15 to 7 p.m.: Cornmeal Trio feat. Wavy, Gangi, and a more
  • 7:30 to 9 p.m.: Fonnmor

Smith Street Station

Address: 180 N. Smith St.

Located right next door to Durty Nellie's, Smith Street Station will also have entertainment available Saturday as part of the 10th Anniversary St. Patrick's Day Celebration. A ticket will gain you entrance to entertainment at both establishments. 

Here is look at the Smith Street Station entertainment line-up on Saturday: 

  • 12 to 2 p.m.: Doggone Mountain 
  • 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.: Dog 1
  • 5 to 7 p.m.: Brian Leo
  • 7:30 to 10 p.m.: Julie Dutchek

Emmett's Brewing Company

Address: 110 North Brockway in Palatine

From 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Emmett's will host a Kegs-n-Eggs Breakfast buffet and visitors will be able to watch the St. Patrick's Day parade from Emmett's patio. There will also be food specials, Irish Red and Irish Dry Stout on tap and a bagpiper throughout the day Saturday, according to Emmett's Facebook page.
