Celebrate Halloween at Emmett's Ale House

Celebrate Halloween this year by attending the Blue Whiskey Cinema Series screening of two suspense/horror films: Nailbiter and Under the Table.

Halloween falling in the middle of the week this month doesn’t mean it has to be just another hump day. Celebrate this year by attending the Blue Whiskey Cinema Series screening of two suspense/horror films: Nailbiter and Under the Table. The BWC, which screens independent films the last Wednesday of each month at Emmett's Brewing Company (110 North Brockway Street, Palatine), will be giving away treats at the door, as well as various awards & prizes for attendees that dress up.

In the feature length Nailbiter, a mother and three daughters get caught up in a tornado and take shelter in a storm cellar. While trapped inside the cellar, they quickly discover that they are not alone. The film has been in a number of festivals, including the Montreal HorrorFest, where it recently won Best Feature. It will be preceded by Under the Table, a short film produced by Chicago’s Glass City Films. It’s just another night at the restaurant, until events suddenly take a turn for the horrible and surreal. Under the Table is an unmistakable homage to horror flicks of the 1970s.

The doors for the Blue Whiskey Cinema Series open at 7:00pm, and the films will start at 7:30pm. Tickets are $5 in advance, and $7 at the door. Meals, appetizers and drinks will be available for purchase during the screening. Blue Whiskey Cinema Club Memberships are now available for $30, Memberships include admission for the remaining seven films this season. In addition, BWC Club Members will be granted 10% off of their food and/or beverage bill on screening nights at Emmett's Brewing Company.
