Palatine Jaycees hold art fair in Towne Square

The Palatine Jaycees will present their 9th annual juried art fair, “An Art Affair Around the Square,” on September 7th and 8th from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM in Towne Square in Downtown Palatine at the corners of Smith Street and Palatine Road.

Artists from all specialties, including water color, acrylic, oil, pottery, fine jewelry, stained glass and pastels will be represented.  “We are excited by the diversity of artists that have returned to the show this year and are impressed with the new talent participating in the show,” said Sarah Harwerth-De Marco, Show Chair.  “This is a quality, juried art show presented as a celebration of all forms of art, from the traditional to the contemporary.”

Besides a wide range of art forms, the weekend show includes live entertainment by local musicians.  Musical artists Pam Brunkalla, Jim Green, Why Should I?, Wex Hixson, Cath Kasmer, Courtney Sullivan, Linda Garrett, Guyz with Bad Eyez and Merv Collins as a solo artist and with Don Humbertson will be performing from the gazebo throughout the show.  For aspiring artists, Palatine Sister Cities will be conducting a paper mache demonstration.
