Palatine Legion to Hold Fish Fries

The Palatine American Legion Post 690 is holding two fish fries on Friday, October 14th and 21st which are open to the public from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The Palatine American Legion Post 690 Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) are holding two fish fries and a karaoke night on Friday, Oct. 14 and Oct. 21 which are open to the public from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the American Legion Hall 122 West Palatine Rd. in Palatine to raise funds for Legion Family Charities.

“We will be serving oven fried pollack dinners for $8 for adults and $4 for children under eight years old,” said Jason Foltyn, S.A.L. Commander. “The dinner includes fish, soup, tater tots, mac n’ cheese, coleslaw, rye bread and dessert. The dinner will be held downstairs in the Legion’s family-friendly clubroom. A full service bar is available for drinks.”

Following the Oct. 14 fish fry starting at 8:30 p.m. and running until 12:30 a.m., the Legion will be holding a karaoke night. Individuals wishing to sing or to have someone else sing a song are asked to donate $1 per song.

“We are always looking for new members for the Legion, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion,” said Judy Kyska, Auxiliary Commander. “If you are interested in supporting those individuals who have defended our country then the American Legion is the organization for you. The American Legion and Legion Auxiliary began in 1919 while the S.A.L. was created in 1932 as patriotic veterans organizations devoted to mutual helpfulness.  These organizations are committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
