Palatine Jaycees To Hold Best Pizza Competition

The Palatine Jaycees will be holding a contest to determine who makes the best pizza in the Palatine area on Sunday, December 11th starting at 2:30 PM at Durty Nellie's Bar and Grill.

The Palatine Jaycees will be holding a contest to determine who makes the best pizza in the Palatine area on Sunday, Dec. 11 starting at 2:30 p.m. at Durty Nellie’s Bar and Grill located at 120 N. Smith Street in Palatine.

“Palatine truly is a place where a person will experience a hometown feeling and enjoy the best pizza around,” said Collin Corbett, chair of the project. “For a $5.00 donation, area residents will be able to judge for themselves who makes the best pizza in the area and at the same time help the community. We’ll have six of Palatine’s best pizza establishments in the competition and you’ll be able to enjoy a Bear’s victory on big screen televisions while you are sampling pizza.”

This year the Palatine Jaycees will donate nearly $10,000 during December to help people in need in Palatine.  The Jaycees will provide holiday gifts for four families and several more individuals in need in the Adopt-a-Family and Angel Tree programs.  For underprivileged children, the Jaycees will co-sponsor a Kid's Holiday Party for 150 deserving children on Dec. 14 featuring crafts, games and donated gifts for each child. For seniors, they will sponsor a Holiday Party at the Senior Center on December 20th where seniors will receive gift cards and treats.  The Jaycees are also helping military families.
