Laughing Chameleon opens in Glenview

The Northshore has a new comedy, magic and variety club, the Laughing Chameleon, in The Glen Town Center at 1830 Tower Drive in Glenview.

The Northshore has a new comedy, magic and variety club, the Laughing Chameleon, in The Glen Town Center at 1830 Tower Drive in Glenview.  The Laughing Chameleon was co-founded by David and Dania Maas, well known for their “Quick change” act, and business partners, Gary and Renee Walter. Offering high caliber variety entertainment, comedy, illusionists and much more, The Laughing Chameleon has a full bar and small plate restaurant service as well as accommodations for up to 75 for private events and parties.
 
The Grand Opening, a benefit for Youth Services, took place on Tuesday, December 27th and Wednesday, December 28th. A portion of the ticket proceeds went to this local not-for-profit organization. Nancy Bloom, Executive Director at Youth Services, along with Monica Garvey, Director of Special Events at Youth Services said, “We are so grateful to partner with them (The Laughing Chameleon)! David & Dania are skilled performers who generously donate their talents to benefit charities such as ours.”

Starting next week comic magician David Merry will be performing at the Laughing Chameleon.  Merry has performed an extended six week run at the Second City in Toronto with his One Man Show “Don’t Panic Remain.Com” which has been nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award. Merry will perform January 3rd through January 8th at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. He has appeared on over 70 television shows and was voted best "Variety Performer" on the Northeast Corporate Entertainment Awards in 2007. He has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Howie Mandel, Tommy Chong, Weird Al Yankovic, The Beach Boys, Neil Sedaka, Michael Bolton, and many others. He was also recently on an episode of NBC’S hit TV show “Last Comic Standing.”
 
The Laughing Chameleon will be open Monday through Sunday, 5:30 PM to 1:00 AM and 5:30 PM to 2:00 AM on Saturday on most weeks, with shows at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM most nights, and Open Mic Mondays at 7:00 PM. General admission tickets will be priced at $25.00 and up, with a two drink minimum. Annual memberships will also be available and will include exclusive access to special events and offers, first advance notices of performers and the ability to buy up to four tickets per membership, priority seating/reserved tables with preferences taken as to where a patron likes to sit, "Members only" specials, invitation to exclusive Meet & Greets to mingle with celebrity acts, and a 10% discount on all tickets purchased online.  Parking is free.
