Holiday Guide: Celebrating the 200th Birthday of Charles Dickens

The Palatine Historical Society pays tribute to the great novelist.

In 1812 one of the greastest novelists of all time was born. Charles Dickens wrote many great works including A Tale of Two Cities, Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, David Copperfield and A Christmas Carol.

To celebrate his 200th birthday the Palatine Historical Society will host its annual Christmas Open House at the Clayson House Museum, 224 East Palatine Road, with a tribute to Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

Several rooms will depict the different scenes of the famous story. Punch and cookies will be served. 

The open house is set for Sunday, December 2 from 1-4 p.m. The Dickens' display will stay up through the New Year. Hours of operations are Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. 

The Holiday Open House is free and open to the public.
