This inaugural "Paint the Town Green" event will take place in downtown Palatine.
A parade will begin at 11 a.m.. There will be a family-friendly Irish Market from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. at the train station followed by an after-party at Durty Nellies at 4 p.m.
Food, disposable paper products and clothing will be collected for Journeys from PADS to HOPE, an organization that serves the homeless and near-homelss people in the north and northwest suburbs.
