Palatine/Inverness Art Council To Host Art Show Preview Reception

The Palatine/Inverness Arts Council (PIAC) will present a public artist reception and show preview to their 7th annual juried art fair, "An Art Affair Around the Square," on Sept. 9 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. hosted by The Music Room at 26 North Brock

The Palatine/Inverness Arts Council (PIAC) will present a public artist reception and show preview to their 7th annual juried art fair, “An Art Affair Around the ,” on Sept. 9 from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. hosted by at 26 N. Brockway Street in downtown Palatine.

Highlighted pieces of the weekend’s art show will be on display, and entertainment will be provided by acoustic guitarist Merv Collins, a press release from organizers states.

“This is our first year offering a reception,” said PIAC President Bill Pohlman. “We saw it as a natural extension of the art show and a great way to engage the public with the artists.”

Attendance to the reception is free and open to the public. Appetizers and refreshments from downtown Palatine restaurants Heng Wing and Mexico Uno will be available.

PIAC’s 7th annual juried art fair, “An Art Affair Around the Square,” will be held on Sept. 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Towne Square in Downtown Palatine at the corners of Smith Street and Palatine Road. Throughout the weekend, more than 30 booths will display a wide range of art, including water color, acrylic, oil, pottery, fine jewelry, stained glass and pastels. Entry to the juried art show is free.
