"Foundation for Murder....A Killer Reunion" Fundraiser Just Days Away

The Palatine Public Library Foundation fundraiser will be a themed murder mystery dinner, and held at the Wojcik Center at Harper College. Tickets are still available.

Get ready to be thrilled and entertained at a "Foundation for Murder....A Killer Reunion", a Palatine Public Library Foundation fundraiser to be held Tuesday, February 25.

The event will raise funds to support a variety of improvements at the main library and at the Feeman Road Branch.

Planned improvements include computers in the children’s area of the main library, shelving and furnishings for the Freeman Road Branch renovation, the library’s bookmobile and furniture at the main library, a press release stated.

“This event provides an entertaining way for the public to help the library with improvements that their budget will not allow,” said Dan Wiseman, president of the foundation board.  “This is the second year for this event.  Our first year was so enjoyable for the audience that we know that this year is going to be even more successful.”

The evening will include appetizers, a three course dinner, the murder mystery show and a cash bar. The TesserAct Theatre Ensemble also will perform a who-done-it murder mystery during the cocktail hour in addition to the program during dinner.

Attendees will be included in an interrogation and help to find the party guilty of murder.

The event will be held at the Wojcik Center at Harper College on Monday, February 25 at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $100.00 and seating is limited.  Reservations can be made through email at foundation@palatinelibrary.org, at ppldf.orgpalatinelibrary.org or by calling 847-217-1845.

“We would like to thank a number of organizations that have sponsored this event,” said Wiseman.  “Without the help of BMO Harris Bank, BIK & Co., LLP, Palatine Bank and Trust, Warehouse Direct and Wells Fargo Advisors this event would not be possible.”

The mission of the foundation is to provide funding for a number of projects that would not be possible for the library to fully fund including computers in the children’s area of the main library, shelving and furnishings for the Freeman Road Branch renovation, the library’s bookmobile and furniture at the main library.  Specifically, funds raised through the “Foundation for Murder” dinner event will be dedicated to the renovation of the first floor of the main library.
