Traffic is backed up on Rand Road due to construction at the future Patrick Hyundai at Lake Cook Road and Rand Road.
Rand goes down to one lane just north of Hicks and significant delays are being seen, so you may want to avoid the area by taking Route 53 north to Lake Cook to get back onto Rand where no work is being done.
According to Martin Stilwell, chief operating officer for The Patrick Dealer Group, crews are working as fast as they can to finish up the lane closures and complete necessary initial work on Rand Road.
Project supervisor Chris Kelly said a majority of the work that is causing delays is expected to be completed by the end of next week, and then there will only be periodic closures as the project moves forward.
The work is being done Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The dealership is expected to open this December.
