5th Annual CycleFest, Tour of Palatine Set for This Saturday

Bikers of all types are invited to take part in the 5th Annual CycleFest on Saturday, August 24.

This coming Saturday, bikers will take to the streets and existing bike paths during the 5th annual CycleFest, Tour of Palatine, beginning at Towne Square near Smith and Slade streets. 

There are seven, 14 and 21-mile tour options for participants, and bicyclists are invited to ride at their own pace. 

The cost per person is $25, and family discounts are being offered. If two family members pay the full entry fee, additional family member pay just $5 each. The full entry fee will also get participants a performance fabric shirt, while supplies last. 

Registration can be completed online at www.bikepalatine.com or can be picked up at Mike's Bike Shop, 155 N. Northwest Highway. On the day of the event, registration will be held from 8:15 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. 

The Bike Palatine Club, which started the annual event, is made up of volunteers who love bike riding and cycling, and want to encourage area residents to keep fit, have fun and enjoy the transportation and social benefits of bicycling. 

The event is sponsored by the Village of Palatine, Palatine Park District, Mikes Bike Shop, Deer Grove Animal Hospital, Great American Bagel, Teddie Kossof Salon Spa, Dzai SuperCo and Illinois State Representative Tom Morrison.
