The online grocery store, Peapod plans to open up a location in Palatine where customers can pick up their groceries, avoiding the wait and additional charge for delivery.

Peapod plans to open the Palatine pick-up site in early October. According to the Chicago Tribune, the Village will not benefit from any increase in sales taxes because all of the orders, which are placed online, will continue to be processed at the Peapod facility in Lake Zurich.
