Palatine Man Faces Charges for Identity Theft

A 45-year-old Palatine man has been charged with financial institution fraud, continuing a financial crimes enterprise and wire fraud for using fake "cloned debit cards" and withdrawing money from an ATM in Schiller Park, according to the Daily Herald. 

Karl Dinev used the bank account information of more than 20 people living overseas to create the fraudulent debit cards, according to the article. The Daily Herald reports Dinev, who is a native of Bulagaria, could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted on the charges
