Local athletes with disabilities headed to state competition

Northwest Special Recreation Association celebrates 70 athletes with disabilities who are headed to a state athletic competition to compete in powerlifting, track and field, gymnastics and more.  Parents, families, friends and staff will be in attendance at the NWSRA Lightning Booster Club’s Pep Rally on Friday, June 14 to cheer on the athletes as they head to Bloomington, IL for the competition.


 Northwest Special Recreation Association exists to provide outstanding opportunities through recreation children and adults with disabilities.  Over 600 NWSRA athletes receive year-round training in the sport of their choice, helping them to have fun, make friends, go new places, learn new things, be included and celebrate their lives.  The NWSRA Lightning Booster Club is consisted of parents and friends who host fundraising events throughout the year to support these athletes.
