ReplySince the "law is the law" for Kate Meyer to cite hazing, below is something from Palatine home rule. Let's start enforcing that too. Come, let's be fair, no discrimination for breaking any law....
CONTROL OF ANIMALS (Section 5-6)
It Shall be Unlawful:
To permit any dog, cat or other animal whether licensed or not, to run at large within the Village. A dog, cat or other animal will be deemed to be running at large when off the premises of owner and not on a leash. The leash cannot be more than 6 ft. in length, including handgrip. No one wishes the death of a loved one, but i agree that you were old enough to know. The parents are after some sort of justice for closure, but their son "should have known better". Period. It's the lawyer who is lampooning everyone they can get their hands on for a bigger settlement. I want to see their lawyer's response if their motive monetary or not. If not monetary, have them reap no benefit of any settlement -- I doubt they would.

ReplyThe ghetto is expanding in Palatine! Just look at the historical names that used "gardens" in it, a tribute to all that went wrong. And now, let's bring all that wrong here to Palatine: Stateway Gardens, Altgeld Gardens, Lawndale Gardens, Rockwell Gardens, and now Catherine Alice Gardens. Why not just change Gardens to Ghetto -- has a more appropriate sound it to.

ReplyAll of this hot air from both sides will blow over once kids move on to different grade levels. Tell me once they are out of middle school and into high school you will be so concerned? I don't think so. Get over yourselves, let's save money, and be done with it. This is just a passing phase. Move on

Good for you! You paid a little above minimum wage. At least you saved more money by not saying you gave any kind of cooling refreshment in that midday heat.
