And the Lemony troll rears it's head again injecting politics into items that have absolutely nothing to do with it. Get a life already.

ReplyAre these Patch Polls just worthless filler so that trolls like Lemony Snicket and others can find somewhere to air out their dirty laundry about their particular political parties, and how they are too self-absorbed to realize that other people do have opinions other than their own?
Yes

ReplyThe original Durty Nellie's is indeed in the shadow of Bunratty Castle but that would be near Shannon Airport, a little bit Northwest of Limerick, Ireland and nowhere near Dublin, Ireland.

On the Blog Post Representative Tom Morrison (R) Ignores Constituents Who Support Marriage Equality
Craig Doherty

ReplyTom Morrison is another sad example of many of the politicians, that have been elected of late, who come in with grand promises of speaking for the people, but once elected promote only their own agenda while turning a blind eye to the majority of their constituency. We endeavor to elect people who represent our communities, districts, and states, yet we keep ending up with people who will say anything to get through the election and then go by their own script. I don't always agree with Mark Kirk and as a veteran, I was sorely disappointed by his intentional (despite his claims otherwise) misrepresentation of some parts of his military service, but I respect him highly because whether or not I agree with him, or whether he agrees with the majority of his constituents, I am confident that he does his best to keep the people he represents as his top priority and as his compass on how he votes.

ReplyBill, you've been around for quite a while and should have a pretty good idea on what and where cuts can be made. Throw out some ideas that your slate is considering so that we can see what direction you are actually heading. All we've heard are generalizations and "we're waiting to hear from the public" as if you're coming in from Tucson and haven't had a day to consider what should be done here. We're looking for leaders with good ideas who have studied the issues and have solid ideas about how to run things better, not just someone saying they will. Which salaries are too high and where and why have we been paying too much overtime? If current programs are not going to be cut, what new "worthwhile" projects have come across your desk that you think would be great to implement in the Palatine Township?

ReplySince some of the new candidates for the Township Board have expressed support for the idea of the study during the election since it goes along with their stated goal of doing things better, more transparently, and with more resident input, perhaps this will have a better chance post-election. Yeah, I'm not holding my breath on that either.

Don't worry. If Catherine moved every time she said Palatine was overrun with Greek restaurants, gangbangers or illegal aliens she would have been gone several times over by now. Not everyone in this community wants to live in a fortress populated only by those who think exactly the way they do.

Good to see an interesting business, and particularly a non-fast food restaurant come to the area. Can't wait to try them out.
