Palatine Man Killed in Head-On Collision, Woman Charged In Crash
46-year-old Anthony B. Calhoun of Palatine in a head-on collision in Will County on Friday, Aug. 31. The other driver involved was charged with reckless homicide, her first court hearing in Sept. 4.
A drunken driver in a pick-up truck crossed the centerline, into oncoming traffic and hit a sedan head-on killing a man from Palatine, according to police. The driver of the sedan, 46-year-old Anthony B. Calhoun, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened on Route 6 about a quarter mile east of the Interstate 55 interchange in Will County around 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31. The driver of the pick-up truck 30-year-old Tiffany Unland of Coal City sustained non-life threatening injuries. Unland now is in the Will County Jail being held on a $20,000 bond. It is so completely unfair that in the majority of these drunk driving accidents, the innocent bystander gets killed while the worthless drunk escapes without even a scratch. It's so maddeningly and completely unfair and it happens 99% of the time in these cases!   more ›
