Powerball Jackpot at $150 Million for Tonight's Drawing

If you're interested in a possible $95.2 million cash payout, or receiving that $150 million over time, you've got to play!

The Powerball has reached $150 million with the next drawing happening Saturday night, March 9. That's a $95.2 million cash payout! Wednesday's drawing produced no grand prize winner, but there was one $1 million winning ticket that had all five Powerball numbers. The last time a Palatine resident won by playing Powerball was in October 2012. The winning ticket, which had all the numbers but the Powerball itself, paid out $100,000 and was purchased at Lamplighter Inn.

Powerball Reaches $151M

The next drawing will be Wednesday night.

It maybe time to see if Lady Luck is on your side.  The Powerball has reached $151 million with the next drawing occurring on Wednesday night, according to a Powerball press release.  While the last Powerball drawing on Saturday produced no grand prize Powerball winner, there were over 21,000 Illinois residents who won prizes ranging from $4 to $10,000.  The Powerball drawing is held every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. The largest Powerball Jackpoit to date was $384 million and was won on Nov. 28, 2012 in Arizonia and Missouri.

Powerball Hits $500 Million Jackpot

A record for the game, Powerball jackpot is at $500 million and expected to climb before tonight's drawing.

A surge in ticket sales has pushed the Powerball jackpot up to a half-billion dollars. A record for game, the whopping $500 million jackpot could grow even larger before Wednesday night’s drawing. According to USA Today, lottery officials expect ticket sales to average 6.3 million an hour today. “When (the jackpot) is this large, it’s not unusual for the jackpot to go up. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pumped up again,” said Chanele Newton, spokesperson for Northstar Lottery Group, which runs the Illinois State Lottery.
