UPDATED: Hit-and-Run Driver Flees Scene, Then Crashes Into Police Car
Arlington Heights police responded to a hit-and-run accident Sunday in the 100 block of E. Algonquin Road. The driver who initially hit a car returned to the scene and crashed into a police car, the Arlington Cardinal reports.
UPDATED: December 31 8:25am Arlington Heights police say a 69-year-old man hit three cars in total with his vehicle Sunday afternoon in the Mitsuwa Marketplace. Arlington Heights Police Seargent Shawn Gyorke said the Arlington Heights resident hit the first vehicle around 1:30 p.m. Sunday as he entered the parking lot in the 100 block of E. Algonquin Road. The car was being operated by a driver at the time. The second vehicle was hit, Gyorke said, as it was parked in the lot, and the third car struck by the driver was an Arlington Heights police car that was responding to reports of the incident.
