The “Click it or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns will again be in effect for the holidays, in addition to roadside safety checks now through January 1.
Palatine Police will again be working to keep the roads safe as holiday celebrations commence from Christmas to New Year's Eve during the holiday enforcement campaign. Through grant assistance from the Illinois Departmentof Transportation, Palatine police will be conducting saturation patrols as they have during past major holiday periods. The “Click it or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign partnership between Palatine Police and IDOT netted dozens of tickets and five DUI arrests between November 12-25.
There were 98 tickets issued for various violations and five DUI arrests were made during the Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement Campaign by Palatine Police. In partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), police enforced “Click it or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” between November 12-25. Similar campaigns are held around July 4, Labor Day and Christmas. A traffic safety grant awarded by IDOT enabled police to increase patrols during that time period to ensure residents driving on Palatine roads were kept safe during holiday celebrations. "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click it or Ticket" campaigns will be implemented now through November 25. Saturation patrols will be out on the roads to look for impaired drivers, speeders and those not adhering to safety restraint laws.
The Palatine Police Department is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to increase safety on the streets through the Thanksgiving holiday period. Now through November 25, residents should expect to see more uniformed officers on the streets to keep the roadways as safe as possible. Statistics police point to show that between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., the most serious traffic accidents, which involve driving under the influence, speeding and failure to buckle up, are documented historically. To crackdown on impaired and reckless drivers this Labor Day Weekend, the Palatine Police Department plans to boost patrols and conduct a safety check.
In an effort to keep roadways safe, the Palatine Police Department plans increase patrol and get more aggressive Labor Day weekend. From Aug. 17 through Sept. 3, the Palatine Police Department is will participate in the Labor Day Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown. With grant money from the Illinois Department of Transportation, the police department will be out in full force. Officers will saturate the streets of Palatine, on the lookout for people who drive impaired, recklessly, and/or fail to wear safety belts. Wish they would extend patrols past the holiday - if they sat in front of the Winston Park campus on Palatine Rd starting at 730AM they would tally up enough speeders in the school zone to pay for the new police station.   more ›
