Fr. Ray Yadron, (Fr. Ray as parishioners like to call him) will celebrate his 50th anniversary of ordination at St. Thomas of Villanova parish in Palatine, IL on Sunday, May 5 at the 11:15 a.m. Mass. A reception will follow in the Rowley Activity Center adjacent to the Church. Fr. Ray was born in East Chicago, Indiana but grew up in Harvey, Illinois. His inspiration to become a priest came from a young associate pastor at Ascension Parish in Harvey. Later he entered St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, IL., Fr. Ray has served parishes throughout the Chicago Archdiocese* with some of his longest assignments being at St. Thomas of Villanova where he served as associate from 80-84, as pastor from 94-06 and currently as pastor …

Prayers for Robert L. Wheat, 80, of Palatine for 47 years, will be said at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, and proceeding to St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Dr., Palatine, IL 60074, for a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel, Palatine. The visitation will be held Sunday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert was born Aug. 24, 1932 in Edwardsville, Ill., and passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Northwest Community Hospital, in Arlington Heights. Robert was an art teacher and chairman of the Art Dept. for Dist. 211. He loved gardening, cooking, reading and watching his grandkids play sports. …

Arthur E. Aronson, 91, a long time resident of Palatine. Visitation for Arthur E. Aronson, will be held on Tuesday, March 13, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine. Interment services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove. Arthur was born on January 8, 1921 in Clearlake, Wisconsin the son of the late Charley August and Eleanora (nee: Lindquist) Aronson and passed away on Sunday, March 11. Arthur was a WWII U.S. Naval Veteran.
