Applications for the 2013 allocation from the Rotary Club of Palatine Foundation are being accepted now through January 21, 2013.

The Rotary Club of Palatine Foundation is currently accepting applications from organizations for possible donations from the Foundation. Organizations applying for funding support from the Rotary Club of Palatine Foundation must be tax exempt under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Monies to be distributed were raised during the 2012 Oktoberfest celebration held the weekend of September 14-16th in downtown Palatine. “We had a magnificent Oktoberfest in 2012, made even more tremendous with the amount of money raised,” stated the chairman of the allocations committee, Oliver Girke. “It’s a great feeling to be part of an organization that can give back so much, especially when so many have had to cut back,” continued Girke. …

The Rotary Club of Palatine held its 49th Installation Dinner Monday Night at Lamplighter Inn Tavern & Grille. Liz Noe of ElizEvents, Inc. was installed as 2012-13 president by Carlos Frum, District Governor of Distinct 6440. New to the board this year are Dan Anderson of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Jamie Suszek of Genex Services and Hank Sobotka of Palatine Bank & Trust. Outgoing president, James McLin of McLin Tours & Travel presented special recognition awards to Rotary members and contributing members of the community for their outstanding work on behalf of Rotary and non-profit organizations in Palatine. The Rotary Club of Palatine presented just under $40,000 in charitable donations to 23 area organizations on at Falcon Park Recreation Center. Executive Directors and Presidents of each organization were on hand to receive the checks. Also present were members of the Rotary Club of Palatine and dozens of volunteers that helped make the Oktoberfest 2011 event a success.
