Police believe the Saturday death of an 11-year-old boy in Hoffman Estates was an accident, the Chicago Tribune reported. Hoffman Estates police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Mallard Lane at 1:44 p.m. Saturday. Police said that the boy was unconscious and not breathing when they arrived. He was taken to Saint Alexius Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3 p.m. The boy had a puncture wound to his chest, but an autopsy did not find what had caused the wound and a gunshot had been ruled out, the newspaper reported.
