Javier R. Rosales, 35, was charged with Aggravated Battery for kicking a mentally handicapped girl and breaking her femur bone while her mother was away at work.
Palatine Police say a Palatine man admitted to breaking the leg of a 13-year-old mentally handicapped girl who was in his care while her mother was away at work, according to a press release from the Palatine Police Department. Javier F. Rosales, 35, of the 1900 bock of Green Lane is charged with one count of Aggravated Battery. Police were made aware of the girl's injury after she was first taken to the emergency room at Northwest Community Hospital by her mother on March 7, the release stated. She was transferred to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, and then is when the Illinois Department of Childen and Family Services (DCFS) stepped in, and notified Palatine Police. A driver who rolled his vehicle Sunday night at 1 Renaissance Place in Palatine was charged with Driving Under the Influence, according Kurt Schroeder, commander with the Palatine Police Department. Ralph Zamback, 53, of the 0-100 block of Renaissance Place was uninjured in the one-car accident that occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Zamback was driving a 2000 Toyota 4 Runner at the time of the accident, which he rolled onto a snow embankment, said Bill Gabrenya, deputy chief with the Palatine Fire Department. Through a traffic safety grant, I.D.O.T. supplied funds to increase the number of uniformed Palatine Police officers on the roadways enforcing traffic laws over the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday period between March 14th - 17th. The focus of this campaign was to get intoxicated motorists off the roads and make sure vehicle occupants were kept safe through the enforcement of seat belt use. A Friday morning traffic collision occurred in the 600 block of Clark Drive. A 34-year-old resident, driving alone, veered off the roadway, hit a light pole and then a tree.
Palatine Police are currently investigating an early Friday accident involving a female driver veering off the road in a residential area, who then hit a light pole and finally smashed into a tree, where the car came to rest. Commander Mike Seebacher with Palatine Police said the accident occurred at 8:04 a.m. Friday, in the 600 block of Clark Drive, near the intersection of Plate Drive. The driver, a 34-year-old female Palatine resident whose name is not being released, was driving her 1998 Dodge Durango, and for an unknown reason, drifted off the right side of the roadway, Seebacher said.
