The latest Palatine Police Blotter: Theft A wallet was taken from a table at McDonald's, 1576 N. Rand Rd., on May 19 between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The victim told police their wallet was on the table while in the restaurant, and when preparing to leave, realized the black leather wallet ($25), containing $400 and miscellaneous identification and credit cards were missing.  A wallet was taken from Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. on May 15 between 10:15 a.m. and 10:25 a.m. After purchasing items from the store, the owner of the green velvet wallet ($15) noticed it was missing when loading their vehicle. Suspect Pulls Gun on Employees, Customers at Palatine Verizon Store

Palatine Police say two suspects entered the store at 784 E. Dundee Road on Saturday, and one suspect pulled a gun. Taken was U.S. currency, phones, tablets and iPads. Suspect descriptions are provided.

Palatine Police are searching for two suspects they believe are responsible for an armed robbery over the weekend where a gun was pulled on empolyees and customers at the Verizon Wireless Store, 784 E. Dundee Road.  The robbery took place on Saturday, May 18 at approximately 6:15 p.m., according to a press release from the Palatine Police Department. A 9-1-1 call was placed by an employee, but when officers arrived, the two suspects had already fled the store.  Employees told police the two suspects entered the store asking about phones, but then the first suspect pulled out a gun and ordered three employees and four customers to get to the ground, the release stated.  Meanwhile the second suspect told the manager to open the inventory …

The latest Palatine Police Blotter:  Criminal Damage to Property The exterior of a ComEd electrical box was spray painted by unknown subjects sometime between May 12 at 5 p.m. and May 13 at 5:31 p.m. in the 1200 block of E. Inverrary Ln. Residential/Vehicle Burglary  An unlocked vehicle was entered by unknown offenders on May 7 between 10:45 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of N. Dogwood Ln. Taken was a Garmin GPS and cell phone charger. The unknown offenders then entered the home and removed two laptop computers, an Xbox 360 game system with controllers, a video game, a digital camera, and miscellaneous keys from the residence. Ashland Ave.  Burglary to Motor Vehicle Two car burglaries were reported in Birchwood Park, 435 W. Illinois Ave., on April 17 between 5:30 p.m. and 11:18 p.m. Unknown offenders smashed the rear driver's side windows of a 2010 Honda sedan and a 2006 Toyota sedan. Truck Scratched A 2000 Chevrolet truck was scratched in the 1700 block of N. Laurel Drive sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. April 14. Window Shattered Someone shattered the rear windshield of a 2008 Honda coupe in the 900 block of E. Lily Lane sometime between 11:30 p.m. April 12 and 10 a.m. April 13. ID, Keys Stolen A person reported that someone stole their ID cards and keys from the common area of Buehler YMCA, 1400 W. Northwest Highway. The incidnet happened sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. April 14. Smart Phone Taken John S. The latest edition of the Palatine Police Blotter: Criminal Damage to Property/Vehicle Luis Vasquez, 21, of the 1500 block of Candlewood Dr., Crystal Lake, was arrested and charged with Criminal Damage to Property after he was seen running away from Lamplighter Inn, 60 N. Bothwell St. on April 6 at 12:45 a.m. Palatine police were patrolling the area when they observed employees of the business pointing to Vasquez as he ran away from the business. Palatine Man Who Killed Dog Gets Punishment

Piotr Holy, 40, will have to perform community service, pay court fines and restitution of $2,900 to the dog's owner, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The bizarre case where a Palatine man shot and killed a neighborhood dog he lured into his backyard with a deer carcass, has come to some resolution.  Piotr Holy, 40, plead guilty to Reckless Conduct, Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon and Obstructing a Peace Officer, the Chicago Tribune reports. Felony charges were dropped due to his plea.  According to the Chicago Tribune, Holy, who lives in the 1100 block of S. Brockway Street, will pay $2,900 in restitution to the dog's owner, perform community service and pay court costs.   The incident occurred Friday, February 8, and during their investigation Palatine police found a deer carcass in Piotr's backyard. Two Car Crash at Euclid and Quentin Leaves One Seriously Injured

A car and SUV were involved in a crash around 5 p.m. Friday that closed Euclid east of Quentin Road and sent three people to area hospitals, one was sent to the Level I Trauma Center at Lutheran General.

Three people were injured, one seriously, in a two car accident near the intersection of Quentin and Euclid Friday night.  The accident occurred at 5:06 p.m. Friday and involved a car and an SUV. Two of the three victims had to be extricated by firefighter/paramedics.  "From the information we have now, the car hit the SUV on the driver's side and pinned the SUV against the guard rail," said Bill Gabrenya, Palatine Fire Department deputy fire chief.  Gabrenya said there were two people in the car, an adult female and a juvenile, and one was outside of the vehicle when emergency personnel arrived.
