Ready for More PHS Football Playoffs?

The Palatine High School Pirates host the Schaumburg Saxons in the Class 8A Playoffs Saturday, November 3 at 2 p.m.

The Palatine High School Pirates have had an impressive season so far!  Palatine will have a familiar foe when they move into the second round of the Class 8A playoffs. The Pirates host the Schaumburg Saxons at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Pirates Show Dominance With 69-42 Victory

The third-seeded Pirates battled, and won their spot into the second-round of the Class 8A playoffs with a victory against the Niles West Wolves at Chic Anderson Stadium.

The slow start to the first round playoff game against the Niles West Wolves was not ideal for Palatine coach Tyler Donnelly. With the score 7-7 and two turnovers for the Wolves in the first quarter, the Pirates responded by starting the second quarter with four unanswered touchdowns.  The next time the Wolves scored was at 1:42 in the second quarter making it 35-14, but it was too late for them to try and close the gap before the end of the half. Right out of the gate, Pirates linebacker Lucas Rago caught an interception at 10:50 in the third, which led the way for Pirate Cam Kuksa to run a touchdown from two yards out, giving him his third touchdown of the game. Pirates Battle Niles West in First Round Playoffs

The Palatine Pirates Host Niles West Wolves at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Palatine Pirates (8-1) will be playing on home turf as they head up against the Niles West Wolves (5-4) Saturday, October 27 at 2 p.m. at Palatine High School.    Palatine earned their second consecutive Mid Suburban West title after beating Schaumburg 51-18 on October 19. The Pirates also are making their 6th consecutive playoff appearance, and are the third seed in the North bracket of 8A. Palatine is led by quarterback Ethan Olles, who set the school passing record last week with 2,329 yards. He directs an offense that features Cam Kuska, John Serio, Chaka Kelly, Alex Nawrot, Eric Theis and Ryan Gronwick, which has averaged more than 41 points per game. Palatine Wins 48-7 Over Hoffman Estates

Pirates beat the Hawks 48-7 in a Mid-Suburban West opener at Hoffman Estates Friday, the Daily Herald reports.

The Pirates dominated the game at Hoffman Estates beating the Hawks 48-7 in a Mid-Suburban West opener Friday night, Palatine’s fifth win in a row.  Handling and overpowering the Hawks with ease, the Pirates (4-1, 1-0) scored on its first seven possessions. According to the Daily Herald, Palatine looked to be "legitimate 8A threat" as the Pirates make their way toward the playoffs. Palatine faces (4-1) Fremd in week six for the Pirates’ Homecoming game on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.

PHS Football Fan Frenzy

PHS takes the battle off the football field to compete in week three of CN100’s Battle of the Fans.

Palatine High School students rally off the field to earn a win for the Pirate football fans who support them week after week in the stands. Palatine Pirates bombarded social media sites Monday telling people to go online and vote for PHS’ fan section in CN100’s “Battle of the Fans” contest. Each week high school students battle it out to see which school has the biggest and wildest fans in all of Chicago. In week three of the contest, PHS is up against the Elk Grove Grenadiers, the Marist Redhawks and the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners. While the No. 11 Palatine Pirates won the game against the Elk Grove Grenadiers (42- 21) Friday, Sept. 7, it’s up the to the public to decide which school’s student section supported their team the best. …

Palatine Stomps Hersey, 49-14

The Palatine Pirates beat the Hersey Huskies 49-14 and inch up to No. 11 in the state’s football rankings.

The Palatine Pirates sailed past the Hersey Huskies to finish 49-14 Friday night. A big win for the team, bumping the Pirates up from No. 12 to No. 11 on the Chicago Tribune’s Illinois high school football rankings this week. At home, the Palatine Pirates got off to a strong start, returning the opening kickoff 88 yards, the Daily Herald reports. The Pirates (3-1) scored the first five times they had the ball, according to the Daily Herald.  At the half, the Pirates were up 35-14 and the Huskies (1-3) were never able to catch up. Palatine took the game 49-14, the Pirates’ third victory in a row.

Palatine HS Loses Season Opener in OT

In overtime, No. 17 Palatine High School lost to No. 9 Montini Catholic High School, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Palatine Pirates kicked off the 2012 football season with a heartbreaking defeat. In overtime, the No. 17 Pirates lost 40-37 to the No. 9 Broncos of Montini Catholic High School, the Chicago Tribune reported. At home, the Palatine Pirates first game of the year got off to a rough start Friday night. Montini took an early three-touchdown lead but the Pirates rallied late in the second quarter to tie that game at 21 at the half. The two teams battled it out in the second half, the game went back and fourth but neither team was able to take control of the game to secure the win. Palatine Takes Regional Title

Palatine defeated Warren 7-4 to win its first regional title in four years.

Palatine girls' softball exploded in their regional final game Friday at Palatine. The Pirates banged out 15 hits while eliminating Warren 7-4 to win their first regional title in four years. Palatine (25-9) will meet the winner of Saturday's regional final between Lake Zurich and Carmel next Thursday at Warren. "We got lots of key hits after getting people on base," said Palatine's Joanne Jablonski, whose two-run double highlighted a six-run fourth inning for the Pirates.
