Palatine Blockbuster Video Closing Sunday

Liquidation sales are in progress at Blockbuster locations in Palatine and in Buffalo Grove.

The Palatine Blockbuster Video store at 780 W. Euclid Avenue will be closing its doors for good this Sunday.  Blockbuster’s parent company, Dish Network, announced last month plans to close about 300 stores across the nation, the Huffington Post reported. The company also closed about 500 stores in 2012, according to the website. Around 500 stores will remain after this round of closures, the Huffington Post reported. Liquidation sales are currently underway at the Palatine location, in addition to Buffalo Grove’s Blockbuster Video store, where movies, video games, candy and even store fixtures are priced to sell.  Items in the store are marked up to 70 percent off.
