Obituary: John Winthrop Howell, formerly of Palatine
A visitation and funeral will be held Wednesday for John Winthrop Howell, 91, of Whitewater Wisconsin, and formerly of Palatine.
John Winthrop Howell, 91, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, and formerly of Palatine, passed away December 15. John was born on January 1, 1921, in Chicago, and passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Whitewater, Wisconsin. He was the owner and operator of Transcontinental Rigging & Loading, Corp. providing services transporting oversized Naval & Coast Guard ships. He took pride in his work and happily worked until the age of 83 when he finally retired. John was the beloved husband of the late Lois Patricia Howell; loving father of Susan Fox, Virginia Sharp, Steven (Linda) Howell, Judith (Ken) Lazar, Mary Betz, and June (Glenn) Wilharm; cherished grandfather of 15 and many beloved great as well as great-great grandchildren. …
