Shell Casing Found at McHenry Co. Elementary School Monday
A search of the school turned up nothing suspicious and an investigation is ongoing.
A McHenry County elementary school was among many schools throughout the country that police responded to Monday for potentially suspicious incidents on the first day back to school following the tragic shooting in Newtown, Conn. Harvard Police responded to Crosby Elementary School at 7:45 a.m. after a .22-caliber shell casing was found on the cafeteria floor, according to the Northwest Herald. Students "were kept in their classrooms doing school work for about three hours" as a search was conducted at the school, according to the Chicago Tribune.
