McCarthy, 80, of Palatine, IL and Naples, Florida was the beloved husband of Suzanne Sheridan Fox and the late Dorothy Duffy; loving father of Debra (the late John) Beck, Douglas (Karen) McCarthy, Jacqueline (Kevin) McElligott, Karen (Richard) McLernan, Daniel McCarthy and Megan (Christopher) Grela.
