The accident happened in DeKalb County just outside of Sycamore Thursday morning.
A grandma, her daughter and 2-year-old grandson—all of Palatine—died Thursday in a two-vehicle crash outside of Sycamore in DeKalb County, according to media reports. Police told the Daily Chronicle the accident occurred when the daughter, and driver of the Mitsubishi Galant, Jenny Perez, 19, of Palatine crossed the centerline on Peace Road near Freed Road and collided with a large farming truck. Her mother, Angelina Felix, 57, and her son, Roberto M. Perez, 2, were in the vehicle and also died in the crash, which occurred around 11:20 a.m. Thursday, according to the Daily Chronicle. Reid Robert Anderson, 27, of Sycamore, was the driver of the truck and was not injured in the crash, according to the Chicago Tribune.

A school bus vs. pick-up truck accident occurred in Palatine late Tuesday and sent three middle school students and the pick-up driver to the hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
UPDATED: Wednesday, Dec. 19 7:30 a.m. A District 15 bus was involved in an accident late Tuesday afternoon, sending three children to the hospital, according to a release from the Palatine Fire Department. According to a message posted on the school's website, Winston Campus Junior High Activity Bus #WC929 was involved in the accident. The accident occurred at the intersection of North Frontage Road and Bayside Drive, according to the fire department, and involved the bus containing 25 children and the bus driver, and a male behind the wheel of a pick-up truck. A week after a harrowing car accident, Fremd star Zach Monaghan was able to return to action.
As Fremd senior Zach Monaghan headed home after basketball practice with teammate Joe Leaf, his future seemed sure. He would finish at Fremd where the long distance shooting guard would lead the Vikings in scoring this season. Next year he would attend Division I South Dakota State on an athletic scholarship. The pair were heading north on Roselle Road when Leaf made a left turn onto Palatine Road at about 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 16. According to police reports, a Jeep headed south on Roselle Road driven by a 17-year-old girl from Cary hit Leaf's 2003 Honda broadside. The driver of the Jeep was not seriously injured. Palatine resident, 21, pronounced dead on the scene of an automobile accident early Sunday morning.
A 21-year-old Palatine resident was killed Sunday, Oct. 24, in what police believe was a single-vehicle crash. Barrington Police said they were notified of a fatal traffic crash at 4:21 a.m. in Barrington Hills. The scene of the accident was on Lake Cook Road, west of Old Hart Road in Lake County. Police believe that a white 1995 Nissan Coupe, which ended up in a ditch on Lake Cook Road, was the sole vehicle involved in the accident. The young man driving the Nissan was pronounced dead on the scene, and was identified as David Schirmer. Justin Turjanski, 24, of Barrington was identified as a passenger of the Nissan. Turjanski was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital for treatment. Investigators believe the eastbound 1995 Nissan veered off Lake …
