Fremd Senior Awarded for Volunteerism

Elizabeth Tokarz, a senior at Fremd High School was one of seven District 211 students who received the Cook County Sheriff's Youth Service Medal of Honor Award.

Fremd High School senior Elizabeth Tokarz was one of only seven students, all who attend District 211 schools, to receive an award that recognizes community volunteerism. Last year, there were 300 recipients, according to the District 211 website.  The Cook County Sheriff's Youth Service Medal of Honor Award was given to Tokarz, along with seniors Isha Jog and Kayle Majeske, and junior Thomas Simac from Hoffman Estates High School, senior David Lin and junior Kodey Visitacion from Conant High School and senior Su Hwang who attends Schaumburg High School. The award is meant to highlight students who consistently volunteer their time and contribute positively to their communities.  In order to receive the commendation, students are required …
