Roadway conditions continue to worsen this afternoon as heavy snow fell and strong winds whipped through the area. A winter storm advisory remains in effect through 9 p.m. tonight for Cook County and three to five inches of snow accumulation is expected. As of 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, 3.2 inches of snow had fallen in Schaumburg and as of 12:37 p.m., 1.9 inches of snow had fallen in Palatine, according to the National Weather Service.
