Afternoon Snow Could Make for Messy Commute

A winter storm advisory is in effect for Cook County through 9 p.m tonight.

A winter storm advisory remains in effect through 9 p.m. tonight for Cook County and three to five inches of snow accumulation is expected.   As of 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, 3.2 inches of snow had fallen in Schaumburg and as of 12:37 p.m., 1.9 inches of snow had fallen in Palatine, according to the National Weather Service.  Motorists were reporting white-out and blizzard conditions, accidents and cars in the ditch and snow-covered and slippery …
