Winter Storm Warning Still in Effect

Palatine and much of the Chicago area remains under a winter storm warning through Monday.

Strong winds and freezing temperatures are expected to continued in Palatine and the Chicago area through Monday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the area through Monday. Temperatures are expected to fall to the teens by 5 p.m. The wind chill could be as low as minus 3 degrees. Also, winds of 30 mph to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected to blow snow and cause drifting, according to the National Weather Service. Wind chills of minus 20 to minus 25 below are expected Sunday night continuing into Monday morning. There is a 50 percent chance of snow Sunday night. Monday will remain chilly, the National Weather Service predicts blowing snow before noon and high of 10 with wind chill values of minus 19.
