The filing deadline to run for the D15 school board begins December 17 and ends December 26.
If you are interested in becoming a District 15 school board member, now is the time to organize your nominating materials if you haven’t done so already. There are four seats that will be open in the April 9, 2013 consolidated election. Tim Millar, current school board president will not be running again. Millar is instead is running for the District 1 councilman seat currently held by Councilman Aaron Del Mar, who has chosen not to run again after one term. The seats for board members Rich Bokor, Peggy Babcock, and David Sieffert also will be open for new candidates. Bokar and Babcock both were elected to four year terms in 2009. A forum will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, October 24 to discuss the District 15 financial outlook and nominating petitions are available now for four open seats on the school board.
District 15 will be holding a Community Communication Forum Wednesday, October 24. The forum will provide parents and residents with an update on the financial outlook of the school district. It will be held at 7 p.m. at the District 15 main offices, 580 North 1st Bank Drive, Palatine. In the April 2013 election, four school board seats will be open, and D15 Nominating Petitions are currently being accepted until December 24. "This is an excellent way to serve the community.
