@Stones - I actually agree with you. My problem is simply the economic conditions presentlyRead More affecting Illinois, the lack of any credible solution and the nature of the Chicago and Cook County governments which can't seem to keep crooks out of office. I think Presidential libraries serve valuable purposes (and that doesn't matter which President it happens to be) can provide economic benefits to the area in which the library is location (whether short/long term is another question which I am not in a position to answer).

I would suggest that Chicago be required to have a credit check performed before any publicRead More assistance is provided to them. The City of Chicago is on Public Assistance already - they should need to certify for benefits every two weeks and prove the need for more funds from us - the employer and safety net of Chicago Government. It probably took 3 judges to get them to grant the warrants they were looking for. And the AttorneyRead More Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) is the "bar" you are looking for. You will find specific rules there and though anyone can lodge complaints, and all complaints are heard, the accused members of the bar have a right to defend themselves and their actions. The attorney for the arrested kid can file for sanctions, too, and move to suppress the information obtained by the warrant if it is judged to have been granted erroneously.

I hope you watch it ~ it’s only 3 minutes. I’d love to know your opinion. The Media should be embarrassed by Congressman Trey Gowdy’s questions. Oh, you will like this one. Many Questions - No Answers Good questions, all! This is most certainly the most embarrassing event that has occurred in the last 16 months. The burden falls on the media who have not done anything to investigate this. If I were to measure BIG EVents the media touted in the last 40 years, I would rank this above the Nixon Watergate Scandal!!! So - why has this gone for over a year without a peep fromthe media??? Maxwell, I am still waiting for your website, or an invite to tour your multi-million company.Read More Really, I love industry on parade, and I liked to take students on corporate tours. As far as you can keep your insurance, you could keep it if it was not junk insurance. Unfortunately, over 900,000 policies in California and Kentucky alone were junk, and these states sued the companies for them. Companies had 3 years to comply with the ACA standards, and they couldn't even do that. Further, Obama gave them 20% profits, and they still want to screw you for more! Emsley was made over $400 million, McGuire $1.3 billion by sending people to death, and the SOBs want more of your money, or your death. Obama stopped the law suits against insurance fraud, because the fraudulent lawsuits would have put the ACA in court which would have stopped the enactment of the ACA. And the companies largely relented, and less than 1 million lost coverage, and most got a better deal out of the whole thing after they factored in the Gov support. Now, about your complaints. Read Potter's books, esp. Obamacare, what it means to me. There is an ACA policy for you. And your old insurance was junk. If you are too lazy to study, then find a reputable insurance salesman who can guide you through it. I studied old age insurance for four years, with 4 different salespeople before I found suitable insurance. Insurance is important, and it’s important that you stop blaming Obama for your screwing of yourself. Do your homework. From your answers to my questions, I would guess none of you whiners have ever done any homework on anything, and have the curiosity of G. Bush. And constantly remember, Fox News is sponsored by Prince Al Weleed Bin Talal, a Saudi Prince who makes billions by screwing Americans, just like you. Anything you learn from Fox has been censored by the Saudis, who gave Fox $2.3 Billion, for that privilege, and Saudi's love war. As far as Ukraine is concerned, why don't you guys go and fight. But take your wallet, not mine. We presently have over 600 bases and posts in over 140 countries. Most of which you could not even name. There are over 225 countries requesting further American assistance, I hope you wallet is very, very big. About 11% of the economy of S. Carolina is federal military spending, on WWII style bases. Ever wonder why Lindsay Graham wants to fight forever everywhere?? I'll let you pay for that. Ukraine and Iraq are twins; full of people who say they want our help until we give it, and then they will say F-you, but give me more money. You guys never learn.

You need to stop with the 20% profit margin, try reading about what defines a business's profit andRead More what is an expense. I know it sounds good from the polluted information you are fed on a daily basis, but insurance company profits for health insurance has been around 2.5%. Bring jobs by encouraging new businesses, expanding existing ones, encourage R&D, internshipsRead More for students and teachers, give incentives for hiring, particularly the unemployed, encourage home ownership, energy conservation, incentives to get off the vices, like drugs. Convert firearms to ploughs and high tech tools, cars and robots. These will all add revenues and taxes, and we could go back to the good old days of 2 or 3% state income tax. Look at the states with zero state income tax: WA, TX, FL, Arizona, NM, Oegon and others: they are all pro-business, which means more jobs and sales/excise taxes. I hate going to Chicago to pay outrageous parking fees. No such problem in beautiful suburbs like Oakbrook. Bring more jobs to suburbs and the country side. Give incentives to farmers. Why are more ag businesses in Iowa, WI and MN than in IL? I want to start a business which in 3-5 years could add as many as 100 jobs. I went to my village: no incentives! This would be like taking on the under funded pention that still hasn't been fully addressed except on the back end some 20 to 30 yrs from now ! I did my best to help the tax payers of Cook County & that's one of the reason's why I left the Assessor's office ! Why, because I was taking the extra time to give everyone a fair break on their assessment through the loop holes that I learned. I got removed & they put in Tax payer Assistance counter, on the phones to answer questions & then on reachout. I was there in the 1980's for the first 100 yrs flood in Des Plaines. No - 'John', I'm not proposing to 'spend trillions on the children' - though we did spend such onRead More Iraq and Afghanistan, as an aside. What I'd suggest is that we cut the number of taxing bodies in Illinois down from the nearly 7,000 [the most - by far, of any state in the nation] to under 250. Get rid of townships - they're an antiqauted concept and redundant, at best. Combine duplicative administrative government entities, e.g., sanitation, water, etc, 'districts.' Eliminate patronage. Establish term limits. Require high-school seniors across the state to take a meaninfgul standardized test before they're allowed to graduate. If students can't pass standardized tests at the end of each year of school - hold 'em back. For the long term unemployed - those who are illiterate in English, require 30 hours a week of English language classes for them to receive Illinois State Medicaid, Sec. 8 housing subsidies, food-stamps, etc. For those who are literate and physically able, require 30 hours a week of public-service and 10 hours a week of documented job-searches. For any company doing business in Illinois to get a tax-break, job creation and/or job-training must be allocated to equal no less than 50% of the tax-breaks. There are entirely too many freeloading companies in Illinois. Establish a 2% payroll tax on non-residents who work in Illinois, being those from the border states of Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri and Kentucky [Iowa and Indiana are so called 'right to work' states that attract businesses away from Illinois and which deflate the value of labor]. Establish minimum standardized test scores for admission to State of Illinois universities. Require Illinois to fund the 'primary' costs of public education in Illinois. Require Illinois to eliminate defined benefit pension plans for ALL state employees [private industry began doing that over 20 years ago]. Establish an education surtax on parents with more than two children in the public schools, for each child beyond the two. Provide a tax-credit to families whose children attend private schools [non-religious only] equal to 1/2 of the educational contribution that the state makes per child {for up to two children}. Require teachers on the public payroll to be truly fluent in English - written and spoken. Limit - as a percentage, the number of non-resident and/or foreign national enrollments in the state's institutions of higher learning {to no more than 20% - undergraduate and/or graduate}. Establish cooperative work-study programs with Illinois-based businesses and the students in the state's public universities. Etc, etc, etc. There's a lot that COULD be done and that SHOULD be done, but, will we [Illinois] do it/them? Hardly! This is... the dire state of the State of Illinois.

The rising cost of college and choking student debt is an unnecessary tragedy because there are manyRead More good reasonably priced regionally accredited colleges. But, alas, cost is seldom considered. Instead, students justify expensive schools thinking they will earn more when they graduate. The New York Times recently reported on two studies which show that equally smart students earn the same whether they attend an expensive college or a less expensive college. Online learning should be considered by cost conscious students. Low cost options are available because online students can choose from thousands of regionally accredited colleges. The real issue, in my opinion, is that politicians are noticably self serving and do not wish to propose changes that could get Illinois and America back on its feet monitarily and fiscally. At this point I think Mr. Rutherford needs to drop out of the race if he does not submit to a comprehensive lie detector test. His accuser should do the same. I think we have had enough of the criminal shanninagans that define Illinois executive branch on all levels, state, local, federal, including intelligence agencies- they are just better at sneaking around and manipulating.

Keep this simple. The report says Rutherford invited his subordinate employee, Michalowski, to hisRead More Peoria home for "an overnight retreat." That is enough for me! It reflects bad judgement if nothing else, very bad judgement to say the least. No supervisor, with any sense would do that. Enough already...I'm for someone else.
