The Assassination of JFK: 50th Anniversary Program at Palatine Library

Fifty years ago, on Nov. 22, 1963, Walter Cronkite announced that President Kennedy had died.  In a multimedia presentation at 7:30 p.m. the Palatine Library, 700 N. Festival Marketplace at Th Pro Shop at Midtown

Get a jump on your holiday shopping and check out Midtown Athletic Club, 1760 N. Hicks Road, in the pro shop. Its Festival Marketplace event showcases a variety of giftware, art, apparel, jewelry, accessories and more.

6th Annual Golf-A-Thon

Golf Nation will host its 6th Annual Golf-A-Thon. The event benefits the Palatine Opportunity Center. The Golf-A-Thon is at 399 N. Quentin Road on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to midnight. Participants pay $25 to play a round of virtual golf at Pebble Beach and will also receive a gift pack that includes a deluxe T-shirt and many more items. The proceeds go directly to Palatine Opportunity Center.

These donations coupled with sponsorships from local businesses will make it possible to donate thousands to this great organization. To participate, simply click on the registration form and send into Golf Nation via e-mail (twuhrman@golfnation.us) or fax (847-202-1205) and see below for all the details of this great event.  Hope to see you there.

Palatine Women's Club Annual Charity Auction & Luncheon

The Palatine Women's Club invites you to join us for a wonderful day surrounded by old and new friends. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at The Cotillion, 360 Creekside, with a preview of silent and live auction items. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. with cash bar. The live auction begins at 1 p.m. Attendees will have an opportunity to purchase mystery bags, gift baskets, tickets for raffles and very tempting bakery items.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Food Pantry and be eligible for a prize. Tickets for the event are $32 a person. Reservations are required.
